Introducing the Pathways to Success Tutorial Program
 
Kathryn A. Alden, MA, is President/CEO of Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc.(CSU), a company founded in 1988 which specializes in clinical documentation software for the long-term care industry. Alden earned a Master's degree in mathematics and has over 25 years experience in data processing and education. Her background includes teaching college programming and data processing courses, designing CEU computer courses for nursing professionals, providing on-site corporate computer training and custom programming, and writing software for managing clinical records and electronic transmittal of the MDS 2.0. Alden actively supports long-term care professional organizations, speaking at conventions and district education. CSU's client base includes 50% of the NF/SNF facilities in Iowa.
   
Martha Koch, MA, is Vice President of Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc. Koch earned her MA in Special Education from California State University at Los Angeles. She has developed training materials and presented many educational programs to healthcare providers on the utilization of the company’s long-term care software. She currently develops training materials, writes technical documentation, and assists in the development of software for Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc.
   
Mary Madison, RN, RAC-CT, CDP, is Director of Clinical Software Support for Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc., providing help desk support to users of nationally recognized clinical software packages. She has more than 34 years of clinical experience in acute and long-term care, including positions of Director of Nursing and Reviewer with the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care. Madison works directly with over half the long-term care facilities in the state of Iowa as well as facilities in six other states. She has developed continuing education programs for administrators, licensed nurses, social workers, and certified nursing assistants and has presented many educational programs to long-term care providers. Madison is a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC) and is a Resident Assessment Coordinator, Certified. She is certified by the Iowa Department of Elder Affairs as a trainer of Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse for Mandatory Reporters. Madison is also a member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has developed continuing education programs for both licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants and presented many educational programs to long-term care providers.
   
John Rooney is the Manager of Client Services/Technical Support at Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc. He has worked with over half of the nursing facilities in the state of Iowa, providing installation of new systems, telephone and MODEM support services, and troubleshooting Microsoft® and Novell® networks. Rooney assists CSU clients with Netscape®, Internet Explorer, Windows® settings and installation of new devices, network configuration, anti-virus software, tape back-ups, and more. His vast experience combined with his patience and ability to explain technical situations in lay person's terms makes him an ideal instructor for those who are new to the Windows® environment as well as those who want an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Windows®.
   
Nancy Adams, R.N., RAC-CTis a Software Support Coordinator with Creative Solutions Unlimited, Inc. She has fifteen years' experience in long-term healthcare, specializing in assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation. Combined with her expertise are excellent critical thinking and communication skills, making Adams an integral part of CSU's Software Support department since 1998.
